A loan of $550 helped to buy a sack of rice, a can of oil, pasta, beans, milk and soft-drinks for her grocery store.

Twalyn's story

With a 21,000 peso loan Twalyn has been able to buy one sack of rice, one can of oil, pasta, beans, milk and soft-drinks for her grocery store. Twalyn is single living with her parents. She’s never liked the idea of working for others which is why she used the savings she earned working as an employee to buy this small grocery store. She’s been a business owner for two years and although there have been some trying times because the economy is very unstable she feels happy with the decision she made.

She’s gone through the learning curve in the time she’s been in business so her future plan is to start introducing a wider variety of merchandise to offer her customers aiming at increasing her income and strengthen the store financially.
