Flora's story

Flora is 47 years old and has lived with her husband and their 5 children for the past 4 years in their relatives' home. For 16 years, she has been selling fruits, vegetables and other seasonal foods alongside her husband as a street vendor. The tricycle they own helps them to transport their goods, and they always fill their cart with seasonal foods, which she buys in bulk. She works every day shopping and walking the commercial streets of her town and through the farmers' markets of the city. Thanks to her language abilities, she can communicate and gain more customers.

This business allows her to gain better earnings because it is very profitable, as she is able to sell more food in bulk in response to demand in her city. After all her time of experience, she has learned the best techniques for sales. She is now engaging in the sale of peeled garlic, because the purchase price is higher this time of year. This loan is her seventh with MFP, and in all this time she has proved to be punctual and responsible especially in regards to her association, which is made up of people with an entrepreneurial spirit and common interest.

Flora will invest this money in buying more garlic crops for sale.
