A loan of $1,450 helped to buy DVDs for setting up her video store.

Sonia's story

The client is a very hard-working person, say her neighbors. Currently she farms, and grows oranges and yuca. She gets up at a very early hour of the morning to work on her crops so that she can put food on the table. The crops are enough for her to be able to survive and have a moderate livelihood.

She has been in a common-law-relationship for the last 12 months. Her partner has a hair salon in the town of Ivirgarzama, and her partner is helping her with the rent on the room where they live. At present, they do not have children due to the fact that they do not have the necessary comforts to be able to start a family.

The client previously worked selling DVDs for her sister in the town of Ivirgarzama. She knows the market and the work well, and that is why she is applying for a loan from the institution so that she can open her own DVD store. This will enable her to create and have a better income, and this way be able to improve her quality of life.
