A loan of $325 helped to buy alfalfa seed and balanced food for her animals.

Maria's story

María is 60 years old and a fighter. She lives with her husband Juan with whom she has seven children. Only one of them, Juan Luis, lives with them. She takes care of him in the house she inherited from her parents 35 years ago.

She has been engaged in agricultural work and sales of minor species such as guinea pigs, pigs and chickens for 23 years. This helped her to capitalize and to buy cattle that produce milk, that she sells daily in various trade fairs in the surrounding villages to her town. Also, on weekends in the livestock fairs, she gets supplied with animals from a farm where she goes often, and she also takes some of her own animals.

Sometimes, her son helps her in the business in his spare time. This activity has allowed her to educate her children and to support the costs required for her household despite difficulties when sales are low. Her ability to sales helped to convince her clients to realize their sales. For the future, she now wants to increase her working capital.

This is her credit number 15 with MFP. She has a good understanding of group lending even though many times she encountered difficulties. That helped to strengthen confidence with her association "señor de reley". Today she renews her commitment to continue being punctual in her installments.

María will invest the money in buying alfalfa seeds and balanced food for her animals.
