A loan of $1,000 helped to buy cellphones and accessories.

Salicou's story

SALICOU was born around 1985 in DIOUMANTENE, Kadiolo Cercle. He is single with no children, and he lives in a traditional family in Dioulasso - Kadiolo (third largest administrative region in the Republic of Mali).

He has a kiosk where he conducts his business. He has been working with the micro-finance institution, Soro Yiriwaso, for one year now in order to satisfy his growing customer base. His previous loans were correctly repaid.

This loan will allow him to buy 10 cellphones, some boxes of cellphone covers, and prepaid calling cards. He stocks up in Bamako and resells his goods retail for cash at his boutique in Kadiolo, and often in Zégoua as well, to a clientele of both men and women.

With the loan, he plans to earn an average monthly profit of 100,000 FCFA. The profit will allow him to pay the interest of his loan and cover his expenses. He will reinvest the rest in his business.

His plan is to increase his capital to make his kiosk more welcoming in order to satisfy his customers.
