A loan of $1,000 helped to buy hardware items.

Fatogoma's story

Fatogoma was born around 1980 in Kadiolo, Kadiolo Circle. The father of 5 children, he lives in a traditional family setting in Noumousso, Kadiolo (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). For almost five year now, he has owned a hardware store. This rich experience in his line of work has earned him a good reputation and he gets many orders. In order to satisfy his customers, he has been working with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution for 2 years. The previous loans have been properly repaid.

This loan will enable him to buy hardware items; boxes of bulbs, interrupters, paint and rolls of electric wire. He gets his supplies in Bamako, the capital of Mali. He resells them for cash in his Kadiolo shop to a retail clientèle made up of men and women. With the help of this loan, he expects to make an average monthly profit of 150 000 francs. This profit will allow him to make the interest payments on his loan and will cover most of his expenditures, and the rest will be reinvested in his business. He plans to become a wholesaler so that he can serve his clientèle, which grows each day.
