A loan of $2,100 helped a member to purchase variety of cosmetic products and chairs for her beauty salon.

Naseem's Group's story

Naseem is a 40-year-old hard-working and independent woman who lives in Punjab, Pakistan with her husband, son, and daughter. Both of the children are students while her husband is a rickshaw driver whose income is insufficient to cover their household expenses.

Naseem herself has been running a beauty salon for two years. As a member of a 10-person lending group, she has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase cosmetic products like lipstick, facial creams, etc. as well as chairs for her salon. With the profits she will first pay back her loan to Kiva, and will put aside some savings for children's future.

Naseem dreams of opening a new beauty parlour and getting good profits from that. She wants to thank all the BRAC staff for being so co-operative. Note: In the picture, Naseem holds a passbook in her hand.
