A loan of $2,075 helped a member to purchase a new sewing machine for her tailoring business.

Yasmeen's Group's story

Yasmeen is a 27-year-old hardworking woman. She lives in Pakistan with her husband, 2 sons, and a daughter. All of her children are students, while her husband is a painter. His income is insufficient to meet the family's needs, so Yasmeen is trying to help him fulfill their needs by stitching clothes. She is a very efficient and hardworking tailor, and she wants to generate more income by purchasing a new sewing machine.

As a member of a 10-person lending group she has requested a loan from Kiva's partner, BRAC Pakistan. This will not only help her to increase her business but to increase her net income and savings as well. With the profit and savings amount she wants to purchase her own house, as they are currently living in a rented house. She dreams of giving her children a quality education. She is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan for this kindness. Note: In the picture Yasmeen is holding a passbook in her hand.
