Maria, 57, is single and lives in the municipality of Choloma in the department of Cortes.

Maria has always worked selling food in her grocery store. She's had this business for 17 years. She sells rice, butter, instant soups, cereals, commonly used medications, sardines, beverages and snacks.

She is now requesting her 3rd loan, in the amount of 21,000 Honduran lempiras. She plans to use the loan to buy meat, dairy products, beans, rice, cleaning products and beverages.

Maria is convinced that if she stocks up her store her sales and income will grow, allowing her to continuously improve her standard of living.
