A loan of $325 helped to buy fertilizer and pay labor costs.

Virginia's story

Virginia, 42, is single living with her parents in the municipality of Morazán, Yoro Department. She works doing domestic chores but in addition to this aiming at helping her parents economically she’s been working in agriculture, specifically growing corn to sell, for the last five years. She uses land that belongs to her parents to plant and grow the corn.

She’s asking for a 6,000 Lempira loan at present that she plans to use to buy supplies and to prepare the soil to plant two manzanas [Central American unit of land measurement] of corn. Virginia hopes to obtain a greater crop yield to increase income and contribute to family support.
