Aged 20 years, Sreypov is married and living in a rural village of the Sampov Meas district of Pursat Province, Cambodia. She has one son who is still small.

For the last several years, she has been farming rice and planting cassava as the main source of the family's income, while her husband is a carver to help support the family. With the current business, she can earn about US $6 and manages to save about US $4 each day for future needs.

This is the second loan for Sreypov with VisionFund. She completely paid back the first loan, which has helped her better support her business. After the loan, she felt empowered and confident to make a better living, and now she is applying for a loan of US $650 with VisionFund. She will use this loan to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

She hopes to make more rice so as to earn a larger income to improve her standard of living.

The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
