A loan of $250 helped to buy more timber, nails and equipment for her carpentry shop.

Glarice's story

Glarice lives in the Kilifi area of Coast Province, Kenya. She is married and has three children, all of whom are in school. She owns a carpentry shop that she has been operating for ten years. She started the business with her little savings.
She learned about Milango through friends and joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve the operations of her business. The challenge she is facing is the high cost of purchasing supplies.
Glarice is applying for a loan of 21,100 Kenya shillings to buy more timber, nails and equipment for the workshop. The extra income generated with the loan will be added to her savings to improve her family's standard of living. Her future plans are to expand the business and to establish branches/outlets.
