Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Segnon Group's story

Segnon is a group of 3 people, whose members all live in the same district of Benin. The group's representative, Félicité (whose hand is raised in the picture), is 29 years old. She is married to Patrice and has 2 dependent children who both go to school. Félicité lives together with her husband and children. The couple both take care of the various household expenses.

Félicité left school at the secondary level. In order to cope with her various responsibilities, she has been selling hair extensions and beauty products in her hair salon for around 10 years. She gets her supplies in Benin.

In the pursuit of customer satisfaction and with a view to increasing her capital and strengthening her business, Félicité is requesting a 3rd loan from ALIDé, together with the other members of the Segnon group. This loan will help them to better respond to customer demand and earn more profits.
