A loan of $800 helped to purchase organic fertilizer.

Laberiano's story

Laberiano is 49 years old and married to Maria. They have five children, but only care for three of them. They live in their own home that Laberiano built himself in a rural annex. Laberiano is a hardworking man. He works farming his own land. He plants peas, potatoes, spinach, turnips, olluco (a type of potato), carrots, and other vegetables. Peas are the product that generates the most income because they flower and create their pods quickly, and because they are in demand in the city of Tarma. His community is located one hour from the city, so it is more complicated to transport all of his products to the markets. He has more than 30 years of experience doing this work and he feels happy with his achievements. Now, he has plots being cultivated that need manure and fertilizers, so he is requesting this loan to achieve his objectives. This is his third loan with MFP and he promises to make his monthly payments on time. He is a member of the Cochayoc Centro community bank, which he identifies with because the other members have similar interests. He plants to invest this 2000 soles in the purchase of organic fertilizer to spread on his pea and bean crops.
