Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Kiki's story

Kiki is 47 years old and lives in Benin. He did not attend school. He is married to Bernadette, who is a merchant. The couple has four children, who all attend school. Kiki lives with his wife and children, and covers the household expenses together with his wife. In order to cover these expenses, Kiki has been selling cereals (corn, millet, and cassava flour) in a Benin market for the past 30 years or so. He gets his supplies from various towns in Benin. With a view to satisfying customer demand and in order to increase his turnover and income, Kiki is requesting a first loan from Alidé. This loan will undoubtedly enable him to increase his business volume and make more money.
