Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), is a partner of Kiva.org based in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone. These teachers are from Koidu, a city in Eastern Sierra Leone. They want a loan of 20,700,000.00 Leones in order to solve their immediate financial problems. At the end of each month, they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Their school’s bursar is directly responsible for handling the repayment on their behalf.

Sahr, 39, is the leader of this group of teachers. He is a native of Njaiama Nimikoro, in Eastern Sierra Leone. He is married to a teacher and has four children who attend primary and secondary school. Sahr has been in the teaching profession for 23 years now. He has requested this loan to buy building materials like sand, nails, iron corrugated zincs, etc. for the construction of a family dwelling house.
