A loan of $1,675 helped to purchase a model D7000 camera.

Edgar Enrique's story

Edgar is a 43 year old, married man. He lives south west of the city of Barranquilla with his wife and two children, ages 16 and 26. There, he has been providing filming and graphic design services for twelve years. He gained experience and learned the trade from his uncle, a professional photographer. He felt motivated while participating in a photography exposition and during this time, he decided to start his own business. His main products include banners, photographs, and video services for parties, fairs, and so on. He makes his sales in both credit and cash to referred customers and increasingly, his regular buyers are agreeing to purchase in cash at specialized centers. Currently, he is applying for a Kiva loan, his second through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. He will use the funds to purchase a model D7000 camera because he wishes to use more modern technology to improve the sharpness of his photos. With his previous loan, he was able to offer improved service and increase sales by 80%. He is very satisfied and willing to work hard to expand his business and reach a greater number of customers. He dreams that his family will have prosperity and that his children will receive a quality professional education. His greatest challenge is facing his wife’s illness and he hopes that he and his family will have the strength to cope with it.
