A loan of $1,175 helped to buy sponges, special needles, thread, tarps, plywood, glue, and other items needed to do her work.

Yessenia's story

Yessenia, 24, is young, happy, and above all enthusiastic when working. She is with her partner and is currently pregnant and waiting for her first baby. For now, she lives with her parents and her siblings of 19 and 15 years old. She works hard with her parents to be able to have a better quality of life. Yessenia’s work is in upholstery. She works in making and repairing seats and covers for vehicles including motorcycles and motor taxis.

Yessenia has a place in her home where she has operated her business for two years. She has help from her father as both of them have invested financially to engage in this work. Besides handling the family business, she is also studying at the university in the city although now in her condition things are not going as normal. She wants to get ahead with her family and now more ever for the baby on the way. What she likes about her job is that because it is a family business she can be with them. Additionally, the income she receives daily allows for more freedom and flexibility. She is doing well and hopes to be able to maintain job stability until the business strengthens and they can update her business with better machines and equipment to improve their customer focus.

This is her 7th loan with MFP; she is grateful to those who make access to this financing possible because it makes her feel more confident she will be able to move forward with her work. She is committed to meeting the payments in a timely manner. At the same time, she feels very at ease and supported by the members of her communal bank. With the 3,000 PEN, she will buy upholstery materials such as sponges, special needles, thread, tarps, plywood, glue, and other items needed to do her work.
