Walter Rafael's story

Walter is 28 years old. Hei is a merchant and has his locale in his house where he lives with his spouse and 2 children, aged 1 and 4. Hestarted this work 10 years ago, when he decided to follow in his parents' footsteps, since they are also merchants. Today Walter sells varied merchandise such as sweaters, underwear, fans, and general hardware. He buys the products in specialized stores and sells them for cash to his neighbors and visitors to the neighborhood where he lives. They are his main buyers. His goal is to position his business in the market and grow more and more and finally acquire his own home. That is why he extended his hours of operation. He works from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. every day to improve his family's wellbeing, which is his biggest motivation. Right now he is applying for a Kiva loan, the first loan he has taken out with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With it, he will buy shoes, flip-flops and beauty products to please his customers and become more and more welll known among his neighbors who are his customers and who are purchasing with more and more frequency. This increases the potential for his Kiva loan being succesful.
