A loan of $525 helped to buy soft drinks and beer.

Julia's story

Julia is 31 years old. She is a very happy and hard-working woman. She lives with Omer, with whom she has two children, ages 2 and 9. She lives in her mother's house with her partner and her children, as well as her siblings and in-laws.

Julia makes a living selling chilled soft drinks and beer. The representative of the distributing company visits her regularly to take her orders, so that the next day they send her the requested amounts according to her capital. Afterwards, she simply places the drinks in her freezer and waits for her clients to arrive. They come to her in search of the most refreshing drink to quench the thirst created by the intense heat of their city.

Julia has been working alone for more than 2 years, and her weekly investment varies from 350 to 400 soles. While her business produces a good income, she feels that it is still too low to cover the main expenses of her home. Therefore, she would like to relaunch the grocery store which she previously had, which she had to close for health reasons that required her attention and funds. In this way, she hopes to improve her finances. She is saving some of the income which she obtains from the sale of soft drinks and beer in order to realize this new goal for the sake of her family.

This is her third loan with MFP, and she is very grateful for the people who give her the financing that she needs to realize her plans. On the other hand, she is committed to making her payments on time, and she hopes to continue working with her communal bank because of the feeling of community and solidarity which the members share with each other.

With the amount she is asking for (1300 soles), she will buy a greater quantity of soft drinks and beer in order to continue selling and make more profit.
