Flor's story

Flor, 38, is a very friendly, responsible and hardworking woman who has lives with her partner with whom she has an 8-year-old son. She lives in her brother-in-law's home along with her son, her partner and her brother-in-law's family. She works hard to get ahead and give her family the best. Flor's work consists in selling food. She is very active from early on in the morning, as she goes to the market to make purchases and looks for the best ingredients in order to offer her loyal customers with the best food. These customers always seek her out for the excellent taste and her friendly customer care. She offers a menu that is accessible to all budgets.

Flor has a sales stall located at the Puerto de Pescadores which is well frequented and allows her to sell quickly. She has been doing this job for 21 years and receives the help of her mother with whom she shares the responsibilities of the business. She complements this work renting a van which she purchased one year ago.

Flor very much likes cooking, having grown up doing this alongside her mother, who she enjoys working with. Moreover, it gives her time in the afternoon to perform other activities. Her customers are loyal and always come to her because she prepares delicious and varied stews, not only does she make regional dishes, but national dishes too. The business is going very well, and she hopes to be able to expand her business, setting up a stable business near her home and keep her customers.

This is Flor’s 4th loan with Microfinanzas Prisma, she is extremely satisfied with the financial support that they are giving her as in this manner she feels confident of progressing with her work. In addition, she has pledged to continue making punctual repayments as scheduled. She is very happy about belonging to this communal bank as everyone is very responsible and supportive.

With the requested sum of 1,800 Peruvian Nuevos Soles, Flor will buy materials to continue with her business, but she needs new pans, cutlery as well as buy ingredients that she will use on a daily basis to prepare dishes.
