A loan of $1,825 helped to buy tires for his truck and purchase agricultural land.

George's story

George is from the Telavi district of Kakheti region. He is 26 years old and lives with his wife, child and grandparents, who are pensioners. George is involved in an agricultural business and has six pigs and 14 piglets. In addition, he owns a vineyard and a plot of land where maize is grown.

George also has two trucks. He takes wood from the forest and sells it in his village and nearby villages. George requested a loan to purchase tires for his truck, because it is damaged and is already risky to drive in the forest. For this reason, George has stopped operations and takes wood only with one car. After changing the tires, George will be able to continue transportation by both of his trucks and sell more wood. The other part of this loan will be used to purchase agricultural land. George plans to lay out a vineyard and expand his agricultural business. This will increase the family income. Increased income will enable them to improve the family’s living conditions.
