Orpa's story

Orpa is a 40-year-old lady who is married to Musa, a 60-year-old man. They are blessed with two children: Iskandar, 11, is attending 6th grade of elementary school; and Valentino, 5. Orpa runs a business selling cakes, and she has been engaged in the business for several years. She sells fried bananas, donuts, fried bread, and nagasari (steamed cake made of wheat flour, banana and coconut milk then wrapped in banana leaves). She wakes up early every day to prepare the cakes, then sells them from 7 to 11 am and continues in the evening until all the cakes are sold out.

Orpa is so grateful for having regular customers who are mostly her neighbors. She intends to make various cakes to sell as demanded by her customers, but she does not have enough money to do so. Therefore, she requested a loan of 5,000,000 Indonesian rupiah. This loan will be spent on buying wheat flour in bulk, eggs, margarine, cooking oil and other ingredients.
