Winfred's story

Winfred lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married, with five children, and all her children go to school. She has no additional family members.

She sells fish at the market. She sells her products on a retail basis. She has been in this business for the last 10 years. She works seven days a week.

She has requested a loan of UGX 300,000 from MCDT – SACCO to buy more baskets of fish. Her major business challenges are transportation and seasonality.

Her goals and aspirations are to start going to landing sites for fish and to educate her children up to the university level. She lives in her own house, and the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and rent.
