Felomina is a 38-year-old married mother of two children and lives in Capucao, Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental. For over five years, Felomina has made a living by running a general store that sells a variety of food and home-use products. She earns 5,000 PHP a month from her business.
In 2007, Felomina joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. She is now requesting a loan of 13,500 PHP to purchase new items such as candies, milo, shampoo, soaps, etc. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the loan as a reserve for future emergencies.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
