A loan of $1,025 helped to buy chickens to fatten and sell.

Luis Roberto's story

Luis is 54 years old, married, and has two children. He lives in the municipality of Arizona, Atlántida. He has been farming for around 20 years. He has several cows, with which he generates income through the sale of milk. He also has a small palm plantation, and sells the fruit they produce, which is used to extract vegetable oil. As well, in the Christmas season he buys chicken to raise and sell, and generates additional income from this.

He has undertaken several loans with ODEF. The loan he is currently applying for is his eighth, and is for 20,000 lempiras. It is to invest in the purchase of chickens and concentrate, in order to fatten and sell them. With this, he will take advantage of the season and succeed in increasing his income for supporting his family. His dream is to keep his business going, so that he can pass it on to his children someday.
