A loan of $650 helped to purchase merchandise.

Maira Sabrina's story

Maira is 31 years old and is unmarried with 3 children. In the city where she was born, Manta, Maira sells clothes which began as being a street vendor many years ago. She chose this trade as there are few opportunities to obtain employment and it was thanks to her sales that she was able to acquire a shop in the local market so that she doesn't need to make runs. She services the store alone and when there is a holiday she contracts an assistance, paying them hourly wages. In her shop she offers blouses, shirts, t-shirts, jeans, and sweats and that is what most customers request. One of the major concerns is the crime, as at times there are many people and it is crowded and full in the shop and she loses visibility. It is at this moment that thieves take the opportunity to steal. She hopes to obtain the loan so that she can purchase more merchandise to sell, hoping to in the future grow until she can open a branch in another city.
