Savy's Group's story

A 55-year-old widow residing in a rural area of the Tbaung Khmum district of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia, Savy is a mother of five children. Savy’s main income comes from rice-growing and she complements it by selling grocery items. Each day, she earns around 20,000 KHR and, after deducting her daily expenses, saves approximately 10,000 KHR.

Savy leads a group of three members, all females and first-time borrowers with VisionFund, who are taking out a loan in the amount of 1,000,000 KHR each. As group leader, Savy will spend her loan portion on fertilizer and pesticide. This single mother, Savy, strongly believes that the loan will help her improve her family’s living conditions.
