A loan of $350 helped to pay for feed needed in her business.

Dometilla's story

This is Dometilla, 69, resident of Payatas, Philippines. She is married to Pascual and a mother to their children. She and her husband manage their household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for her everyday expenses.

Dometilla operates a piggery. She earns by selling live hogs to meat dealers. Sometimes they have the pigs slaughtered and sold in the market. Aside from this, she also cooks breakfast meals for additional income. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of PHP 1200 in sales every week.

To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a PHP 14,000 loan. She will use the loan to buy feed and additional hogs. She expects a boost in her income as she expands the business.

Dometilla hopes that her business will continue to be successful and dreams of giving her grandchildren a good and quality education. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work every week, where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
