Onorina, 52, has been a member of Futuro para el Bien Communal Bank for more than six years. She and her partner have lived together since they were very young. They had a child who died prematurely. Currently they live with a nephew who is like a son to them.

When she met her husband he was a locksmith and worked selling all types of furniture. Onorina learned sales from her husband, and that's how she opened a store in her house to make a living selling furniture. She has been working in this business for about nine years and has a lot of customers. Thanks to her job she can pay her household expenses and continue investing in her business.

She'll use this loan from Edaprospo to get various pieces of furniture, such as display cases, wardrobes, and shelves.

In the future she wants to finish building her house and expand her business into a bigger store.

Onorina is grateful for the support of Kiva lenders, who make it possible for her to continue with her dreams.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
