Peninah's story

Peninah lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with four children, and all of her children go to school. She has no additional family members. She is a tailor at the market and sells her products on a wholesale and retail basis. Peninah has been in business for the past eight years. She works six days a week. She gets additional income from rental houses. Peninah has requested a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from MCDT SACCO to buy rolls of cloth to make clothes. Her major business challenges are transportation and seasonality. Her aspiration is to build more rental houses. She lives in her own house, and the family has access to electricity but does not have access to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and food.
