Al-Ayhm Group's story

These are the four members of the Al-Ayhm group. All of them live in a working-class neighborhood of the city of Sana`a, Yemen. The whole group took out a loan of 110,000 YER. Hajr is the leader of the group. She is 26 years old. She is the woman holding a paper in the photo. She is a tailor who has been sewing fabrics, veils, scarves and various clothes for five years. She lives in Sana`a, Yemen. She started her business in her house. She is developing her skills to be professional tailor in her area.

Hajr`s most important challenges are to work hard to gain extra income and to better her business structure. She is receiving a youth loan of 30,000 YER from AMB to buy sewing materials for her business. Because her loan repayments have all been made punctually, she has been able to grow her business with the reinvestment she makes from each loan. In the future, she would like to save her profit to open a sewing factory.
