A loan of $400 helped to purchase creams, perfumes, clothing, cosmetics, and feminine accessories.

Gladys Esther's story

Gladys is 54 years old and lives in the municipality of Puerto Colombia, a heavenly place located on the Caribbean coast, where she has a business selling merchandise like clothing, cosmetics, accessories, creams and perfumes to friends and relatives in the area. Gladys has three children between the ages of 22 and 36, and her husband also works. Promoting and selling the products is something she is diligent about, and she is helped by her youngest daughter, who distributes the products and is in charge of accounts receivable. Gladys' goal is to continue expanding the business, and it's for this reason she is requesting a Kiva loan, her first from Foundation Mario Santo Domingo. She plans to purchase a variety of merchandise, which she gets at a good discount through her catalogs, like creams, perfumes, clothing, cosmetics and feminine accessories. This will increase her supplies for the time of the season when her sales increase and she will be able to provide a better service to her customers so they make purchase and every time she makes a little more money.
