A loan of $450 helped to buy belts, CDs, and hats.

Ingris's story

Ingris is 34 years old and has a business located in the city center, where she sells varied merchandise such as hats, glasses, belts, and compact disks, to customers who frequently visit the city center. From a young age she was a businesswoman, selling bocadillos [guava jelly] and gradually expanded her inventory. She got the opportunity to buy a colmena [sales stall] in a market and then stocked it with other products already mentioned.

Every day Ingris serves her business and offers articles from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Sometimes she buys on credit and others in cash. In other words, not all the times she finds good prices because she can't buy in volume when there are discounts because she doesn't have enough working capital to do so. This is why she is applying for a Kiva loan, first financing she makes to Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which she will buy belts, compact disks, hats, so she will have a lot of diversity in her inventories. This is precisely what will make the investment of her Kiva loan successful.
