A loan of $400 helped to buy women's accessories, perfumery, creams and make-up.

Denis's story

Denis, 39, lives in Puerto Colombia with her two children whose ages are 18 and 2. There in this land of beach, breeze and sea with important tourism potential she sells merchandise via specialized catalogues to earn income to support her two children. Colognes, perfume, creams and make-up are her customers’ favorite items and Denis is very watchful of special offers in her catalogues in order to capture interest, attention and purchases. Her goal for later if she had enough working capital to make the purchase is to open a sales point or variety store to add a variety of products her neighbors buy in other places selling them to them herself.

She started her business a year ago because she was unable to find employment so decided to start her own business venture. She currently has an average profit margin of 17% and her inventory turns over in 12 days. With this she will be buying products like women’s accessories, perfumery, creams and make-up to her customers have already preordered and that she’ll sell in her native Puerto Colombia where she’s very well-known by residents of this wonderful place on the Colombian Caribbean.
