A loan of $575 helped to buy small home appliances and other merchandise.

Teofilo's story

Teófilo works selling general merchandise. He leaves home daily transporting chairs, tables and other merchandise in his cart displaying them throughout the town of Soledad where he lives with his family. Among the products he sells are rocking chairs, pillows, sheets, towels and small home appliances that he sells on credit to his neighbors and residents in the town where he lives.

He’s currently applying for a Kiva loan, his second Fundación Mario Santo Domingo financing that he’ll use to buy small home appliances and other merchandise to increase sales volume and have a larger inventory turnover. He will buy table fans, home appliances, pillows and merchandise needed by his customers that will sell immediately.

He’s very grateful to Fundación Mario Santo Domingo because the loan is of great use for him and he does it aiming at growing and improving his current business conditions like increasing working capital in order to have merchandise available for sale that will turnover quickly; this is what will make his Kiva loan have the success Teófilo expects it to have.
