Chichek's story

Chichek is a 40 year old woman who is married with two sons. She is IDP. Chichek breeds cattle for meat purposes. He also has two milk cows. Her profit consists of cattle sales and selling fresh yoghurt and milk. Her husband is on a pension and helps her to run the business.

She usually buys small calves, raises and fattens them for five to six months, and then resells them for a higher price from her place (she does not need to take her livestock to the bazaar and customers and butchers comes to her house to buy livestock) and rarely in the livestock bazaar. Her monthly income is 150 AZN. This business is only one source of financial income in her family. Meat is in very high demand in Azerbaijan, and people use it in everyday dishes like pilau and dolma.

Now Chichek has applied for a loan of 800 AZN to buy two cattle and fodder.
