Kamile's story

Kamile is a 41-year-old married woman. She is an internally displaced person (IDP) and lives with her husband and one daughter. She raises fruits and vegetables in her garden. She started this business 10 years ago. She chose this field because fresh fruits and vegetables are very popular in Azerbaijan and people like to eat them fresh and make fresh juices, which is very healthy.

Her husband gets a pension and helps Kamile to sell crops in the central bazaar. Her monthly income is 150 AZN. People use fresh vegetables everyday and consider them healthy, many national dishes are made of vegetables, like pilau and dolma. Fresh fruits are on every table in Azerbaijan, and
families also make fresh punch. Raising crops and working in the open air takes a lot of strength, which is very hard for woman and that why her husband helps Kamile.

She needs additional capital to invest in seeds and fertilizers. This will allow her to improve the quality of products she raises and increase her monthly turnover. For this purpose she applied for a loan of 1,200 AZN.
