A loan of $2,550 helped to buy two cattle, two milk cows and fodder.

Zeynab's story

Zeynab is a 45-year-old married woman with three children. She is IDP (an internally displaced person) and lives in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. Zeynab has raised cattle and cows for 18 years. She was a housewife and her husband was on pension when she decided to start her own business.

Zeynab usually buys small calves, raises and fattens them for five to six months, and then resells them for a more profitable price in the livestock bazaar. Her monthly income is 70 AZN and this business is only one source of financial income in her family. Meat is in very high demand in Azerbaijan and people use it in everyday dishes like pilau and dolma. Zeynab also keeps milk cows for personal use and for selling to neighbors.

She wants to expand her business and improve the life conditions of her family. She applied for a 2,000 AZN loan to purchase two cattle, two milk cows and fodder. This will be her third loan and Zeynab has a good client history.
