Ricardo, 32 years old, is a married entrepreneur from Camanga, Tukuran with five children and is earning a living from his rice production business. It has been in operation for almost 10 years now and he earn 5,040 PHP a month. To improve his business, he is borrowing the amount of 7,000 PHP from GDMPC micro-credit which he joined in 2011 in order to purchase fertilizer. Before long, he’s hopeful of the possibility of expanding his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
