A loan of $1,075 helped to buy basic grains, sausages, soft drinks, candy, and pastas.

Leonidas's story

Leónidas, age 53, lives with his life partner, and he has seven children. He lives in a rural community in the Santa Cruz de Yojoa municipality in the Cortes department.

Leónidas has been selling food in a mini-market for four years. He sells eggs, shortening, salt, wheat and corn flour, sugar, and soft drinks.

He has currently requested a loan for 21,000 lempiras to stock his business with basic grains, sausages, soft drinks, candy, and commonly used drugs.

He thinks that his sales will increase because the time for harvesting coffee is approaching. During this season the circulation of cash is greater, and the demand for his products increases.

Leónidas has completed four cycles of working with loans with ODEF. He is very grateful for the trust being placed in him. His goal is to increase his income in order to be able to give his children a good education.
