A loan of $1,100 helped to buy agricultural inputs for 21,000 square meters of corn.

Orlando De Jesús's story

Orlando is 33 years old, married and has two children. He works in agriculture, a profession which he learned from his parents. Together with the family, they work 21,000 meters squared of corn. He, along with his family, gets up at 3am to milk the cows. Later they bring the animals to graze near where they have the crops. They walk close to three kilometers to arrive at the fields where they have their crops.
To obtain the agricultural inputs, Orlando has to walk two kilometers to the place where he waits for the bus that will bring him to the city.
The loan that he is requesting from Fundación Campo is to buy agricultural inputs for the 21,000 square meters of corn, since the inputs bought on credit are more expensive. With the loan, he wants to buy them with cash to save on the costs and as a result obtain a better profit margin to provide for his family and to be able to buy more cows and increase the milk production. His desire is to buy land to build a house, since where they live is rented
