Kasagazi Twimukye Group's story

Silvia, a pineapple grower in the rural Lyantonde, is married and has six children, who are all in school. She also looks after four orphans. She went into the business in 2009 because she wanted to get income to meet the growing demands of her extended family. She also rears pigs and goats, in addition to the pineapples, to ably support the family. Her dream is to build her family a decent house and to rear cows. Her main challenges so far are limited capital, inadequate market for the pineapples, and diseases. Silvia is hardworking and determined.
