Santos Leonor
Santos is 49 years old and lives with her three children (ages 17, 12, and 3) who are completely dependent on her. She does not rely on help from anyone else in order to sustain her household.

Santos prepares “pupusas” filled with cheese, a mixture of meats and vegetables, or with beans and cheese. She prepares the food to order along the main street where people travel on their way to work, so many stop by to purchase “pupusas” for their breakfast each morning. Pupusas are a traditional dish that is widely accepted across the country, so there is great demand.

Santos is requesting a loan so that she can buy supplies in bulk. She will also buy propane gas and a canopy so that she can protect herself from the sun.
