A loan of $1,000 helped to buy corn, vegetables, and beverages.

Pilar's story

Pilar, age 49, is a hardworking and enterprising woman. She lives with her 13-year-old adopted daughter, who is the reason behind her drive to succeed. Pilar has a “pupuseria” (an establishment that sells “pupusas”, or stuffed tortillas) that does a great deal of business, especially on the weekends.

She is requesting a loan so that she can buy supplies for making more “pupusas”. Pilar will also buy vegetables for making pickled condiments to serve with the “pupusas”, as well as hot and cold beverages. Everything she does is geared toward improving her income, which enables her to provide a better life for her daughter.
