Ya Marie's story

This is 43-year-old Ya Marie. She is widowed and has five children aged 6, 9, 12, 15 and 20. Four are going to school. In 2002, Ya Marie established her tie-dyed clothing business (bedspread, gown, lappas, etc.). Ya Marie didn't attend school, but used to assist her elder sister in business. When she got married, her husband gave her some money to start a business.

Working seven days a week and 11 hours a day, she earns about Le1,549,000 every month. She would like a loan in the amount of Le 3,000,000. Ya Marie requires a loan in order to purchase more merchandise (20 bedspreads @ Le60,000; 15 gowns @ Le70,000; and 22 collingine lappas @ Le34,000). The balance of Le2,000 will be used to pay labourers. In the future, Ya Marie plans to build a house, provide quality education for her children and perform Hajj. The loan will help to increase her stock. Inadequate capital is her major challenge. She is a hardworking business woman. She thanks ARD for accessing the loan. She thanks you for your support.
