A loan of $600 helped to buy 15 bags of organic fertilizer.

Arturo's story

Arturo, 27, lives with Mari, the mother of his two children: Gaby, age 7, and Michez, age 3. The family lives in their own home, located in a native community in the central forest.

Arturo is a very enthusiastic young man. He works in agriculture. Thanks to his parents and the community, he has three parcels of farm land where he grows coffee, bananas, and corn. "These three products are profitable. It depends on how I negotiated and worked, but I work harder growing coffee," he says. Arturo has been doing this for about nine years, and he says that the most difficult part of his job is getting his crops to the city.

He invests a lot of money in freight, organic fertilizer, paying workers and others. However, his results from the harvests are satisfactory. He has to fertilize his crops every six months, to ensure their growth and the formation of the grains. This is why this time he is looking for support to get organic fertilizer. He likes his work and his plan for the future to increase his planted fields. This is the second time Arturo has received a loan from MFP, and he is firmly committed to making his payments on time.

"Los productores Yaneshas" is his communal bank and he is glad to have responsible co-members. He likes the idea of saving and the growth of the members as a team. He will invest the money in 15 bags of organic fertilizer to fertilize the land where he grows coffee. That way he is sure to have a good harvest next year.
