A loan of $775 helped to buy bags of organic fertilizer.

Rolando's story

Rolando is 54 years old and a widower. He lives with his daughter and his granddaughter in their own house located in an indigenous community in the central tropical forest region.

He learned this work from a young age by helping his parents in the fields. This is why he works as a farmer. His experience is reflected in the output and earnings that his work generates.

On his 4.5 acres of land he grows coffee, plantains and yuca. The most difficult part is taking the entire harvest to market, because the community is located a three-hour trip away by truck or car, he says.

Rolando is already an older man, but he doesn't complain about his work. In order to make progress and make the work easier, he hires workers. This way he does clearing, harvests the coffee, and doesn't neglect his sales.

These days are important for fertilizing his land, and that is why he is requesting your help in order to buy fertilizer.

This is his second loan with MFP, and that is why he states firmly that he will make his installment payments on time. He says that he enjoys working as a team, because of the savings plan and the mutual support. He will earmark 2000 soles to buy bags of organic fertilizer for his coffee plantings.
