A loan of $200 helped to pay for his son's final course fees.

Felix De La Cruz's story

Felix, 56, lives in the hot city of Nazca alongside his wife and five children who he loves very much and for whom he strives daily to turn them into upstanding citizens so that they will be better than him.

Felix works as a caretaker at a school in his city about 12 hours daily but also has a small parcel of land where he grows coffee. He’s able to cover most of his household expenses with the fruits of his labors. He believes he does well in his work because he’s responsible and because his children motivate him to strive harder every day.

Felix is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given him he will be able to help his son with his final course expenses. He’s studying pharmacy and is about to graduate. In this way, his son will be able to get his degree and look for employment according to his profession and Felix will be able to see part of his great dream become reality: to see his children become professionals.
