In this Group: Harry Jackson , Esther Sara , Carmen Rosa , Carmen Luz , Maycol Scoth
Esther is a member of the group El Banquito Del Ahorro. Esther is separated and lives with her three children who are now adults. She is the president of the group and this is her second cycle together. Esther has a restaurant; she learned the job from her parents who had a restaurant when she was very young. It was there where she learned everything about the business. She inaugurated her own restaurant 38 years ago, where she currently works. The location of her business is good because there are a lot of factories around the place and the workers come daily to eat the food she prepares.

Her loan will be very useful for her because she wants to start another fast food business and needs to adapt another space in her house. With the loan she will buy some tables and chairs that are needed. In the future, she would like her restaurant to become one of the best. One of her daughters is studying gastronomy and she wants her to continue with her dreams. Esther is grateful to all the investors for supporting her in the business. In the picture she wears a black jacket, she is the third on the right.

The small photo on the right is of Sra. Carmen Rosa.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
